I have seen 1917 now (in a cinema) and you can save your time and money. I was not impressed, you expect a lot of fighting in a war movie, but it wasn't much of that in this one. The Lost Battalion was a much better WWI movie

Thanks for the review. That’s disappointing as all the reviews I’d read said how good it was.

It was a well made movie, the trenches and the no man's land were very well made. But I expected much more of them movie. The First World War was a war with gigantic battles when either side made a big push to break the dead lock. Somme, Ypres, Passchendaele, and all other places tell a story about a blood bath.

It is another movie/documentary that might be worth watching. It's called "They Shall Not Grow Old"
